Mitahato French Village is very pleased to announce that it will be soon hosting a group of young French-speaking football players from the Island of Mayotte, an overseas department of France located in the Indian Ocean. 

Speaking in Mitahato after signing agreement of exchange with Équipe ASC Abeilles of Mayotte, FNK Coordinator Ms Audrey Angela Oyoo expressed hope that more exchange programmes of this nature will take place in the future in order to fully expose Mitahato to the francophone language and culture. "The fact that a community from so far has heard of Mitahato French Village shows that in our work of promoting the French language in Kenya is gaining international recognition ", said Ms Oyoo. She explained that the visit of the football team to Mitahato is aimed at improving cultural, linguistic and sports links with the French Island. 

On her part, the President of Équipe ASC Abeilles, Ms Yasmina Aouny lauded the partnership with Mitahato, saying it will be a dream come true for her players to visit Kenya and the beautiful village of Mitahato. "When we heard of a village in an Anglophone country that was trying to learn French and discover the Francophone world, we decided to establish links with it, and now here we are, preparing for our visit to the village ", said Ms Aouny, adding that she hopes that both sides will benefit greatly from the exchange.
